DOES ONLINE LEARNING REALLY WORK?

It's actually not hard to understand why online learning has become more popular in recent years. In addition to the affordability and convenience, a large number of people are choosing online learning courses because they have become a more effective way to learn. Researchers discovered that participants in online learning courses with multimedia content retain information better than those in traditional face-to-face courses.

 

Online course also offer more flexibility for both the speakers and the audience. In addition, online learning is also more environmentally friendly. Recent data suggests that online courses on average use significantly less energy and emit less CO2 per participant than traditional face-to-face courses.

HOW LONG ARE THE COURSES?

Course lengths vary. Please refer to each course page for details on the duration of the course you are interested in. One-day courses typically start at 9:00 am and finish around 5:00 pm. Please see the “Courses” section for more information on the courses currently offered.

ARE THE COURSES ACCREDITED?

Yes, all our courses will be accredited by the relevant body (eg our paediatric courses will have RCPCH CPD approval).

HOW MANY CPD CREDITS IS MY COURSE WORTH?

One CPD point is equal to one hour of learning. For every hour you spend on CPD activities, you earn one point.

WILL I RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE UPON COMPLETION OF AN ONLINE COURSE?

Yes, a course completion certificate will be sent to all participants via e-mail.

WHO WILL BE THE SPEAKERS?

Talks on our courses will mostly be given by senior clinicians from high volume tertiary centres. We always do our best to ensure that every lecture is covered by the best possible specialist in the field. In most cases, the faculty members will be specialist consultants.

ARE THE COURSES INTERACTIVE?

Yes, we put a lot of emphasis on interaction. Learning is enhanced by the use of real-life examples and clinical scenarios, as well as interactive question and answer sessions after each lecture. An important part of some of our courses will be interactive workshops.

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR AN ONLINE COURSE?

You can register online through our website. A registration form is located on each page of the online course.

WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I HAVE REGISTERED AND PAID FOR MY COURSE?

Once you have registered and paid for your online course, you will receive a confirmation email. We will send you details and instructions on how to access the online course 48 hours before the course date.

I AM NOT IN THE UK, DOES IT MATTER?

No, it is absolutely not a problem. This is one of the main reasons why we are running our courses online. We want to make training more accessible to more people around the world. If you purchase a course from outside the UK, the fee will be automatically converted into your local currency when your card is charged. The exchange rate will be set by your bank.

CAN I SHARE THE COURSE LINK?

No you can not. Each participant will be required to register with unique details that will allow only one person to log in.

WHAT ARE THE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR JOINING AN ONLINE COURSE?

It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that they have the proper hardware and software requirements, along with good internet connection, to be able to participate in the course. The minimum recommended internet bandwidth for Zoom is 1.5 Mbps. If you are at home, please ask your family not to stream videos and games while you are connected.
